Faux Tile
This is a hand painted tile backsplash. Please click through the pictures for a glimpse into the process. A project like this can take quite a few days as paint needs to be allowed to fully cure between steps.

The texture was first removed from the wall which was then primed and painted in the chosen white "grout" color. This step alone takes over a week. Once that had a chance to cure the grout lines were painstakingly created using tape, level, and pencil. (There are a few key techniques to making tape work correctly in a situation like this.) The dark blue color of the tile was glazed on in layers to give each rectangle it's own uniqueness and add to the illusion of being real ceramic tiles. AND THEN the tape is removed.... By far the funnest and most rewarding tape experience one can have.
